#CENTURY LINK DOWNLOAD SPEED TEST WINDOWS 10#
with some bad Windows 10 update, Windows 10 told me two years ago and one year ago to have no Internet connection while browsing the web on Internet without issues. All devices indicate a strong wifi signal but "No internet connection"Īnd if you provide also the context and where you read this message, we may conclude its meaning.

Have reset, unplugged and setup as new several times. I head already seen values as low as 1% when doing another complaint, and much less achieved during such observation. So it's time for the next complaint to my ISP. Another lookup reveals that these 53% are established since 9 April already, not since yesterday. And a lookup confirms now a value of about 53%. It appeared to me that this value had dropped at least since yesterday. But there are times when this value drops significantly or dramatically. This value is about 78% of the contractual value when things are normal. And when I look into my router, I see what has been negotiated between the ISP provided router with integrated modem on my side and his modem on his side. According to feedback of support of my ISP, the maximum bandwidth possible with the agreed network technology and the ISP provided router with integrated modem is about 83% of contractual bandwidth. And when I look into the WAN side of my router, I can also see actual bandwidth and negotiated bandwidth. Then the national supervisory body for public (data) networks has forced the ISPs to specify also a minimum bandwidth which has to be in sound relation to the agreed contractual bandwidth and has to figure also in the updated contract. on my WAN side, my contract with my ISP specifies some bandwidth. The names of the models are C4000BG, C4000LG and C4000XG.Į.g.

I don't know if your router offers such a test option or if you need to include its storage. And your test target on your router should reside in memory, in order to prevent interference of slow storage like eMMC on your router with your measurement. And also for the case of using such a router in router mode, you should ensure that your WAN side of your modem is plugged off. But you still need to provide further details for your test setup as otherwise you might be testing something different. If you have a router with integrated modem and using it in router mode, then I would understand that the kind of measurement you want becomes possible. Please ensure that you have plugged off the WAN side of your modem for these tests as you want to test the Ethernet part of your modem! Otherwise you risk your WAN side interfere with your measurements. That's why Peter and Andy were asking how are you measuring Ethernet download speed in case you use a modem instead of a router. But in the past 15-20 years, another meaning of modem emerged which may render some measurements possible, but still not the one you mention. When I learned the term modem, it would not allow to do such measurements you claim to do. You seem to be the cause for that different development as you seem to confuse yourself and us by doing something different than would you want to do. This thread evolve into something different. And please don't forget to read the recommendations of our field guides, especially those on getting started and on posting good questions, including the helpful references found at the bottom of its web page.
